With a longer season you will experience, more airline competition, more choice & more savings in low season!

Last year Jet 2 announced it was extending its package holiday & flight schedule for the autumn season. Why? Simply put it’s supply and demand. Not everyone wants the high summer temperatures, children, or crowds on holiday so airlines are catering for this demand. Personally speaking, some of our best breaks at the villa are in low season – but what does that mean? More choice = more savings!

Other benefits include;

  • Car hire is on average about half the cost than in high season.
  • More readily secure the best restaurant, table and views.
  • Less of a temperature variation from day to night.

Breaking News: For the 2024 season and beyond, instead of booking the entire villa which hosts a maximum of 13 guests, making it great for parties and large groups, it is now possible to book only the ground floor; 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, wc, kitchen, utility, and lounge. Following your feedback, this option is now available outside of high season & school holidays. Naturally, you still get exclusive use of the private swimming pool, garden, bbq, boule court, table tennis and all facilities, offering a more cost effective option for smaller parties.

After the busy summer months things start to wind down at the beginning of October in Kefalonia.  Fortunately, this means that you get to experience this popular destination in comfort and share your precious holiday moments with less people!  Close to the villa is Sami, a fun, thriving and bustling port town, as well as a holiday destination, whilst some restaurants close, there are still plenty of choice. Fortunately for us, many of our favourites remain open!

See photo gallery below.

Most attractions are also open; Melissani Lake & Drogarati Caves, Assos Castle and beach bars remain open and at least one of the cafes are open at Antisamos beach providing food, drinks and free sunbeds for holiday makers until the last International flight has departed.  Fancy swimming, boat hire or sailing in the turquoise waters of the Ioninan sea in peace – this is definitely the time for you!

Sunbathing and swimming is still a must; the sea is a great temperature having warmed through the summer. The warmth is there yet the heat just isn’t as intense as the hot summer months, a parasoll becomes optional rather than essential. Typically in October, the only clue that it is late in the season is longer shadows on Antisamos beach (about 5pm) from the mountains behind. For us it’s a trade off, always have flexible plans, you may get the occasional morning when it rains, then again you may not.

For those of you who like exploring as well as sunbathing, autumn is a perfect time, travelling, cycling, hiking and walking is much more comfortable – there are plenty of walking routes accessible from the villa. Alternatively why not visit the national park at Mount Ainos, with breathtaking panoramic views – a perfect time to explore.

These photos taken during the second half of October 2023, will hopefully give you a flavour of what to expect!
